The library in its own words.
Every great Jewish book, chapter by chapter, through the passages that carry each chapter's meaning. You read the authors' words, not ours.
Word for word
- Nothing here is paraphrased or summarized. Each passage is shown exactly as written, in the original Hebrew or Aramaic and in English translation.
- The texts come live from Sefaria, with every reference and translator credited. Restricted translations appear only as short excerpts, with a link to the full text.
- What we add is the choice: which passages from each chapter to show. A handful of modern books that Sefaria doesn't carry are listed by title only.
The path
An order for reading the core of the library, from Pirkei Avot and Genesis to the Zohar. Tick each book as you learn it and watch the map turn gold.
